UITP is glad to welcome you to the European Bus System of the Future Final Event, taking place on 15th October 2012 in the SQUARE Meeting Centre of Brussels.
The final event will be the opportunity to present the innovative results of four intensive years of research and development, dedicated for the first time to the whole bus system. Join us at this occasion to meet our partners and to enjoy lively presentations with the exhibition of the EBSF prototypes and demonstrators of vehicles, test bench, driver cabin, bus station...
Coordinated by UITP, EBSF is an initiative of the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme. By joining the forces and resources of 47 partners in 11 countries, EBSF defined an intelligent system with pioneering vehicles and infrastructures, well-integrated in the European urban scenarios. Public transport operators, national and international associations of public transport, local authorities, bus manufacturers and research or consultancy organisations dedicated themselves thoroughly to raise the image of the bus systems in urban and suburban areas.
With the forward-looking public transport sector strategy PTx2, UITP’s ambition is to double public transport’s market share worldwide by 2025. Buses are a vital part of the solution, and it is time to rehabilitate urban buses as an attractive transport mode! Intelligent use of innovation, strong political will, intelligent urban planning, good operating conditions and a dynamic public transport sector: these are some of the essential ingredients needed to keep our cities moving. The strategic activities led in the EBSF framework noticeably contributed to reaching this goal. EBSF has developed innovative solutions and you will be able to discover its major results during this EBSF Final Event in Brussels.
